I baked a cake in a terra cotta pot (6") and was wondering how many servings are in it? I can only think that maybe it is the same as a 6" pan, however, it does taper in at the bottom and is pretty tall. How do you all determine the serving size of this?

well, I'm going to tell ya I made a flower pot cake but I carved it o ut of 6" rounds.......however it was exactlly the same size as a 6" pot so maybe I can help.....I would say it was about 10 servings........and I'm talking normal like 2x2" birthday cake servings........it really all depends......I wouldn't make it for 15 and expect it to be enough.....but if you made it for 7 you MIGHT have leftovers lol that probably didn't help at all did it??

according to Wilton, 4 cups of batter makes a 2 layer 6" round cake. That feeds 12 people. If you know the capacity of your pot (how many cups of liquid it would hold) then that should give you a baseline to follow.
