ok so my hubby works at best buy and his job asked him (today!) if i would do a cake for a meeting this sat! has to serve 60+ people and they want it to be the logo, so a tag with "best buy" on it. i have a 12x18 pan and wonder if this would be enough? if not could i do another one and put it on top. and i want to do the "best buy" with a chocolate transfer...have no idea how to, and what proportions it has to be in realation to the cake. any help would be great!

According to the Wilton yearbook, a 12X18 2-layer cake (about 4" high)serves 72 people. If you are only doing 1 layer, maybe you could also make some cupcakes frosted in blue and yellow to match the logo colors.

hi. this caught my eye because my son works for Best Buy. Based on the Wilton chart a 12x18 should serve 72 people. If you have a 9 x 13 sheet you could make 2 sheets and I would put them beside each other to extend your rectangle (then cut of the edges to make your logo). Frost in yellow. I would cut out the BEST BUY letters using BLACK FONDANT and place it on the cake!

If you don't have a 9x13 and you do want to bake another cake just work on the same principle to EXTEND the original sheet rather than stack them! thumbs_up.gif

thats a good idea! i might try the 2 sheet cakes side-by-side. and i could just make up some mmf and dye most yellow for the main part and the other black for the name
