aacckkk. DH lost the rod to my wondermold pan (you know that big 'ol doll skirt pan thing) and the last time I used a rolled up piece of tinfoil...with questionable results. But right this minute its back in the oven in preparation to be Elmo's body this weekend and the tinfoil rod thing floated off the nut in the bottom....aaahhh....so its burning on the outside and raw in the middle and I lowered the temp and everything...sigh...

question: I need to get a new rod thing. WHERE? Does anyone know where you can get something like that?

People swear you don't need one - they say it cooks better without. If I lost mine I think I would start my search at the hardware store, not a Home Depot but a Mom & Pop.

Beings that "mom and pop" hardware stores are almost nonexistent anymore, I gave up looking for one. I use mine all the time without the rod. I just turn the temp down and cook a little longer. Have never had any trouble.
