Help! Got An Airbrush, Got A Nebulizer...now What?!?!

I'm hoping one of our Airbrush Experts out there can help me with my dilemma!
Here' the story:
I purchased an airbrush from Airbrush City through Ebay, and received it very quickly. I read on here that you can use a nebulizer compressor with the airbrush with excellent results, so I found one to use. I also just received my airbrush colors, so I'm all ready to start practicing...BUT...I can't figure out how in the world to attach tubing to my airbrush or the nebulizer! The nebulizer came without any tubing at all, so I figured I could use my extra aquarium tubing, but it of course won't fit over the nebulizer nub...but that's not a huge problem because I can always buy bigger tubing (at least I hope I can
). Here's the real ????: How in the world do I get tubing over the airbrush's valve?
Here's a link to the airbrush I bought: http://airbrushcity.com/gd100.htm and you can see the valve in the picture, and I don't think I have any way of removing it. Any suggestions? What did you successful nebulizer/airbrush users do? HELP!

Well, I have both as well. My nebulizer did come with tubing so that is no problem. But I am not sure I would want to use the nebulizer on anything edible. Think about it, if you use a nebulizer with Aerosolized Albuterol you are breathing through the mouthpiece but as you do I would imagine your saliva is deposited in the tubing and that tubing attaches to the Nebulizer. Even with new tubing and cleaning your Nebulizer I would not feel assured that all bacteria or germs from my mouth had been eradicated and might be on the opening where the tubing attaches.
The nebulizer my kids have also needs to have the air filter changed every 6 months.
I have a KopyKake airbrush and I like that the airflow is adjustable. I don't think you can adjust a nebulizer. It might be strong enough to blow the icing off the cake... Good luck!
hmmm.. i certainly am interested in this one also! I have a few of these here at my house..as for them not being sanitary.. i think if you use new tubing it wouldn't be a problem because at the hospital they just switch out the tubing for each person...
Thanks for the replies. I am going to try to buy some bigger tubing today to see if it works out alright. I did place the end of my airbrush's hose to the nozzle of the nebulizer, and air was definitely being sent through the airbrush. Seemed really slow and steady to me, but I can't hold the hose to the compressor...that will get a wee bit annoying after awhile
!
I'm hoping I can get this to work because it will definitely be a $$$ saver, but if not I can always order an actual 'compressor' if need be!
Aha! I see, I see, I see!!! I know why I'm having my problem with connecting a aquarium-type hose to my airbrush! I need this little gem:
...and I don't have one! I looked at the airbrushes available through Bakery Crafts, Kroma-Jet, etc and they all had that little adapter thingie! Hopefully I can find one at Home Depot or Lowes...or I can always order one through Airbrush City if need be!
Glad that mystery is over ![]()
