Sure you can. I add chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Or you can do a cream chees swirl to one....lots of things!

I like to add different flavors of chocolate chips and also swirl in anything like pudding, cream cheese or anything you want.

My hubby has two favorite ways for me to make brownies. Smash up a couple of Butterfinger bars and stir them in or Peanut Butter Cups.

I prefer cream cheese and raspberry jam! YUM!!!

My "Killer Brownies" are as follows.

1 box of Aldi Brownie mix
substitute coffee (strong!) for the water in the recipe or use the water and add 1-2 tsp of expresso powder.
Add 1 tsp of good quality vanilla.

And then if I'm feeling really fun, I'll add in some semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chips, nuts, etc.

everyone loves these. So darn easy!

I add heavy cream instead of the water and mini chocolate chips.

My family loves the brownies I make, call them Killer Brownies.

1 box fudgie brownie mix (with a chocolate packet)
1 box regular brownie mix
1 bag chocolate chips (12 oz. or 1 lb.)
1 cup chopped nuts (any kind you like)

Put both brownie mixes together in a large bowl. Add whatever ingredients (eggs, oil, water) required for each mix and mix together by hand. Add most of bag of chocolate chips (or any flavored chip) and nuts, mixing well.

Pour mixture into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Cook according to package directions (usually 350 degrees) 35 - 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cut and serve - delicious.

The recipe in the Cake Doctor says use buttermilk and real butter in the mix. I always add some sort of chips and then ice them with a thin ganache.
