Somehow I managed to sell cookies halfway across the country. I'm working on the invoice and I'm not really sure what to charge for shipping and handling. It's 4 dozen decorated cookies in bags. I'm assuming I will syrofoam line a box and then seperate the layers with bubble wrap. Overnight it? How much do you think all this runs? From NC to TX? Thanks so much!!!

All I know is it's going to be expensive!!
I sent my mom 4 cookies, decorated, in bags and rolled only in bubble wrap in a small box (that means no extra wrapping since I just wanted to test out bubblewrap) and it cost me (no overnight, just regular mail) $5.00 from Michigan to Arizona. My mom also said one of the cookies broke. So, no.1, wrap VERY well. Bubblewrap surprisingly doesn't weigh anything, but the postage will! And you will have to wrap up a lot better than just bubblewrap. Good luck.

I just sent my baby announcement cookies from Jersey to Ohio...decorated invdividually wrapped in cello bags and not one broke. Here's what I did. I put a piece of foam.......not styrofoam...but squishy foam....you could use bubble wrap....I stuck that in the bottom of the box...make a couple inches thick with the bubble wrap...then I laid the cookies, not on top of eachother just a single layer.....then I used crumbled up paper....(I have huge rolls of craft paper, but you could use any kind of paper that's a little stiff) then I continued to layer until it was almost filled to the top......then I put more foam on top making sure everything was packed as a tight fit but not tight enough to break the cookies. Then held the box shut and picked it up (holding it closed) and shook it to see if I could hear or feel anything shifting or moving ( this is just about the most important step because if things are able to move around they'll crush eachother..you want NO MOVEMENT)...I didn't....so I sealed it up......and mailed it. Not ONE cookie broke!!!! They were perfect....I know because I mailed them to my mom's house to give to my brother LOL. Overnight is pretty expensive......I took my box....medium sized box...not huge but not really small...to Office max and they use DHL instead of ups and it only cost me 7 dollars and was in ohio in 2 days (even though they said it would be there in 3)

There is even more stuff on that website. I may have to start making some cookies. I love shortbread cookies though. Anyone got a good recipe for that?
