OK I have someone asking me what I would charge for this cake. If the tiers were 14, 12, 10 and 8 inches with the same topper made out of gumpaste, how much would you charge? How many people would that feed? I know there is a conversion chart somewhere on CC where it gives how many bride sized servings versus family size. Anyone know where that chart is? I need help. Thanks.

Is there a picture attatched? I don't see one. I might be able to help with the servings issue, check out earlenescakes.com. She has a good serving chart.

the topper itself I'd easily charge $100 for if it were gumpaste. cake is whateve the # of servings x your per serving price. don't flinch when the number gets big - they should pay for what they order.

Ok, so it's 155 servings according to earlene's chart. Depending on your pricing in your area, $2.50-$4 per serving plus $100 for the topper.

So, anywhere from $487.50 to $720 total, depending on your market, and the flavors and fillings. If they are fruitcake or something expensive, adjust accordingly.

OK she's decided that she doesn't want the flowers in gumpaste. She wants them either real or silk. So that won't be included in the price. She needs a cake that will feed 120. So if I did a smaller version like 12, 10, 8 and 6 inch. how many would that feed? Where can I find Earlene's conversion chart?

That's perfect! Sometimes it [price] seems outrageous but the formula is there for a reason.

It's not.... x+b=y *unless y looks really expensive and the client might have cardiac arrest when told the price

it's really just x+b=y

period.

Man I need to make some wedding cakes!! icon_twisted.gif
