I just realized that Wilton Fondant is actually quite edible after it has been on the cake for 24+ hours. It's no MMF but it doesn't taste like furniture polish anymore. I had it on top of Cream Cheese icing. Just thought I would share. icon_eek.gif

That's pretty funny. I think that's the most positive thing anyone has ever posted about the taste of Wilton fondant.

I have read several places that the Wilton fondant has a "neutral" flavor and is supposed to absorb the flavors of the frosting underneath. I think it tastes like fish oil and I'm sorry, but fish oil buttercream doesn't appeal to me.

hopper, that's interesting. Did you add some type of flavoring to the fondant? Or did it just absorb the flavor of the icing?

Nope, no special flavors. I just put it on top of the Cream cheese icing. the cake is Italian Cream but I dont think that has much to do with it. The only reason I used it is because I had a box of it forever and I was bored so I figured what the heck. i still wouldn't recomend it over MMF thats my favorite. MMmmmm Marshmallow........................................
