i am making a sheet cake for a party this weekend and i don't know what size to make. it is for a relative and when i asked how many people will be attending she said 'anywhere from 35-75'. its a police academy graduation party so its not like an event where people will be seated and served cake as they would at a wedding. they will all be mingling around.

i just don't know how many people i should make the cake for. i can't decide if i should make a 12x18 or if a 11x15 sheet cake would be enough.

any suggestions or advice would be awesome.

TIA

I'd probably go with the 12X18. I'm pretty sure an 11X15 will only feed up to 35 people. Better to have too much than not enough, right?

Wow, she wasn't very specific was she..... I would make the 12 x 18 and let her decide what to do with the left overs..... better to have to much than not enough... good luck...

I agree with the 12 x 18. More is definitely better than not enough.

Are you donating this cake? If so, do you want to pay for 75 servings? If not, I'd offer 35-40 servings and ask her to find a second or third party to make the other cakes.
