Hi...I just made this cake for my daughter's 1st birthday over the weekend. I got a couple requests for cakes from some of the people at the party. People were asking me to duplicate this cake. However, I am not sure what to charge someone for a cake like this. This is one of the bigger 3d cakes I've made. The cake was all buttercream. The cake Elmo is sitting on is just a dummy cake. Help please! Here is the link to the picture...I couldn't get the picture to attach...

i'm no good at pricing either , but that cake looks like you could easily get at least $100.00 probably more. it looks like that cake would feed alot of people. whatever the case good luck and the cake is great!

Did they want the blocks too? What was the overall size and how many cakes did you need to carve it? I would say, just by looking at it and knowing that you had to pipe all that FUR, no less than $200 for it to be worth my while - no way.

I would charge at least $100 without the blocks, $200 with the blocks. (I hate to ice those PIA blocks!)

Well, for Elmo, it was a wondermold & sports ball pan. He is sitting on a dummy cake. The blocks were a two layer 8" square cut into quarters (and yes they were a pain to ice...which is why they ended up star tipped...it was getting very late!!)

Did you use rice crispy treats for the arms and legs? Honestly, I think just the elmo is worth over $100.

No, I used marshmallows on a thick wire for the arms & legs.
