I want to make SUgar cookies for my baby shower as a party favor. I am going to try the NFSC recipe and I was going to try the MMF. I wanna do this as soon as possible because if it fails I need enough time to think of new favors lol.

My questions are can I make the cookie and cover with mmf and freeze? I dont want them to come out yucky.

Is MMF the best way to go for someone who has never decorated a cookie before? I was going to try to do RI but im just to afraid LOL. I found a recipe on this site for MMF that used marshmellow fluff is that a good recipe for me?

Sorry for all the questions this is my first time. icon_redface.gif

Welcome to CC!

MMF sounds like it might be a good option if you haven't decorated cookies before. I just use the regular mmf recipe in the tutorial and it works great. I generally don't use all the powdered sugar called for. You'll be able to tell by feel when working in the remaining amount. When it starts to get firm and less sticky you can stop adding.

I haven't made the no fails but everyone really seems to like penny's sugar cookie recipe flavor wise. The recipe is on here too.

I would think you could freeze with the mmf on them but layer them with wax paper when freezing and when you get them out of the freezer I would lay them out on a rack to come to room temp so the condensation that will form doesn't ruin your decos until it dries. If you have dark color fondant you could have bleeding issues with the color during the thaw.

Good luck with them!

When I make decorated cookies, I first bake the cookies and then I freeze them. 1-2 days before the party I need to start decorating them. I use No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe that is here on CC and then I use Antonia74 Royal Icing. I was afrid of working with Royal Icing also but it's really easy to use. Look at my cookies in my photos.

How far in advance can you bake and decorate cookies? (using MMF or RBC)
