Bumping this...I really need to get one of those!!
I have a very expensive pasta machine that was given to me to use for my fondant icings and its still in the box...never used it..not yet anyway..so wanna watch this topic and give it a BUMP cause I'd like to hear any pros, cons and various uses for it too.
I have one I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond for about 30 bucks, and it works amazing for fondant. I dont know about the ones from the craft store...I assume if you clean it well, and use it only for food, you should be ok. It does afterall say PASTA on the box...which is a food too! Good Luck.
I don't have the clay one but I have one that goes on my KA. Yes you can use them with fondant and/or gumpaste. They aren't going to make big sections like enough to cover a cake with, but it can work for smaller projects, such as the bows.
Can the pasta machine be used to make ropes out of fondant? Or just to flatten the fondant?
i was curious about this also. i almost purchased it with michael's last 50% off coupon but i was unsure.
i wanted to use it for mixing color into small amounts of fondant. does anyone know if it can be used for this purpose or if i'd just be making more work for myself?
i am not a fan of kneading the color into the fondant. at least with MMF you can get the color in there when you're making it.
Texas Sugar, have you figured out how to clean the KA pasta attachment? It's such a chore if you have used it for dark chocolate and then want to use a lighter after that. Thanks
