Hi, I just bought a pasta machine at Michaels on sale for $15 it says it is for use with polymer clay. I assumed I could use it for mmf. What do you think? Thanks for your comments!

I got one the last time they were on sale. Workss great for smaller pieces of fondant. You can't really put a lot through it though.

I have one I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond for about 30 bucks, and it works amazing for fondant. I dont know about the ones from the craft store...I assume if you clean it well, and use it only for food, you should be ok. It does afterall say PASTA on the box...which is a food too! Good Luck.

I don't have the clay one but I have one that goes on my KA. Yes you can use them with fondant and/or gumpaste. They aren't going to make big sections like enough to cover a cake with, but it can work for smaller projects, such as the bows.

Can the pasta machine be used to make ropes out of fondant? Or just to flatten the fondant?

I would assume you can use the spaghetti gadget to do ropes. I also bump this, have one in a box for my KA.

The one from Michaels will really only flatten the fondant. But you could probably make the strips, then roll them to gt the rope look.

i was curious about this also. i almost purchased it with michael's last 50% off coupon but i was unsure.
i wanted to use it for mixing color into small amounts of fondant. does anyone know if it can be used for this purpose or if i'd just be making more work for myself?
i am not a fan of kneading the color into the fondant. at least with MMF you can get the color in there when you're making it.

Texas Sugar, have you figured out how to clean the KA pasta attachment? It's such a chore if you have used it for dark chocolate and then want to use a lighter after that. Thanks
