I dont remember where I heard this (probably on the food network), but I had it marked on my calendar and when I flipped it to October, I noticed and realized that 10-18-06 is national cupcake day. Ill be bringing in cupcakes for all my immediate co-workers. But I need ideas and fast. I thought a basic yellow cake and chocolate cake with a vanilla icing and I can color the icing to make each cupcake different. Id pipe different designs on them. I also thought of doing cupcakes in ice cream cones. Do those actually taste good? Ive never had one but I suppose they would impress people.

Well, it's October so I think it would nice if some were decorated in a halloween theme.

Sorry I don't have any ideas for you, but National Cupcake Day is just too cool!

A fall theme would be nice (autumn leaves piped on top).

The cupcakes in cones sound cool as well. Never done it myself. I've heard that the cone becomes crispy and not that nice to eat, but it will look nice.

I've decorated cupcakes to look like ladybugs and they turned out nice. Check out my gallery.

So the cupcakes in ice cream cones, do you bake the batter in the cone? I have heard of this but have wondered about it for a long time. Sorry to sound so dense, just never had one before!
