I came across a recipe for chocolate pumpkin cake that I'm very eager to try now that it's fall. The recipe calls for pureed pumpkin. Where do I get this? Do I have to go buy a pumpkin and cut some of the meat out and put it in the blender? Can I just use a canned pumpkin filling? HELP!

I would just use canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling).

Pureed pumpkin comes in a can.. LIBBYS, BUT make sure you DO NOT buy the Pumpkin Pie mix, because from the outside they look the same, but one will say Pie Mix.. icon_smile.gif

You use canned (solid packed) pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie filling. Of course if you really wanted to go thru the bother, you could bake a pumpkin, pull out the insides, and puree it yourself................canned is easier.

Thanks ladies! I guess I never noticed that you could just get canned pumpkin. I thought it was all pumpkin pie mix. Good to know! I can't wait until this weekend and I can try it out!
