Avoid Buttercream From Sticking On Stacked Cakes

Please Help! I am trying to avoid my 3 stacked buttercream cakes from sticking to each other. any tips or suggestions? ![]()
If you use a good crusting BC, you won't have the problem. Look at the pic here http://cateritsimple.com/_wsn/page19.html .... you can see the indentation on the top of the cake that shows the separator plate was sitting directly on the cake, (in the first pic, you can see the dowels are ever so slightly below the top surface of the icing) yet when it was removed, the icing stayed in place and did not stick to the plate.
I've heard that if you dust the place where the separator plate will go with powdered sugar that will prevent sticking. Haven't tried it myself.
..... some people also sprinkle a little shredded coconut under the plate or cardboard.
As a person who HATES coconut, be sure to check with your client first. I would demand a full refund if there was a HINT of coconut on my cake, because I would consider it non-edible!!
