I was just looking at Charm City Cakes website and I noticed that at the bottom of the FAQ page, it has a question about cake decorating and it gives a reference to Cake Central! 
It has alot of information about ordering and pricing. They start off at $500, and wedding cakes are $8 serving. They are booked up, taking no orders at all up till mid. Oct. and are booked for the first few months in 2008. They charge $125 a hour for delivery outside their area.
And for all those non cake people who think you can do a cake in 1 day or 30 mins. like they do on Food network, it tells how far in advance you have to place a order!

Me, too, Alana! I wanted to order a cake for my big 4-0 next year, but they were all booked up already!
But I got CC out of it, so I'm okay with that. 
WOW....they are booked til october! I am lucky to get an one order by october!!!

Yup - I emailed them to see if they had any sage advice for a total newbie and Mary-Alice pointed me to this great forum as well. She is awesome, as I would assume the rest of the crew are. I spent my teenage years hanging out in Baltimore, and those guys remind me uncannily of everyone I hung out with there.
