Does anyone have any simple ideas for my small problem, I have playing cards for a poker themed cake for my brother and they are made of fondant and are spread like the way you hold them in your hand, so staggered on top of each other, they are now dry and I really dont want to just use a piece of cardboard to put behind them to make them stand up on the cake, so does anyone have another suggestion? I think toothpicks would just push down into the cake.

Are they strong enough that you can use something similar to a dowel and attach it to the back with royal icing and stick it in place? Kind of like a cake pick? Or maybe one on each end of the cards to be like a banner?

Just some thoughts. Use more fondant and make an easel?

How about a couple of fondant dice stacked up behind them? That way you wouldn't have to worry about it being something you didn't want seen. K'ly ^,,^
