Since I have been posting numerous forum questions, you all probably know I am sending out my first wedding cake. thank you all for your support. Everyone is very kind and generous in sharing. One of my final questions is transporting. I live in CO and need to deliver in the mountains (many curvy roads). Any suggestins on how to make this a succesful journey? icon_smile.gif

I have read to use memory foam. I am not sure where to purchase this though.

You could use a fairly thick piece of foam rubber, it will help cusion the cake. I always use the non-skid mats also. You can usually find the mats on a roll at WalMart. They are by the contact paper. If you have a tiered cake, always transport seperately and put together at site. I would not transport a stacked cake, put it toghether at site. I know Colorado roads and hills and curves, just take it easy and you should be fine.

Good luck. I don't know the answer but would like to know. I know those hills are bad icon_cry.gif I have also heard about the memory foam but don't know where to purchase it.

tptmom - Where are you in Colorado? I'm in Highlands Ranch (south of Denver). Are you taking the cake very far? I haven't done a wedding cake yet, but hope to in the coming months......I'll be interested to hear the suggestions on this one. The largest thing I've transported so far is a 1/2 sheet cake box, and even that makes me a little nervous (not too bad though).

Good luck to you! You'll do a great job.

I ALWAYS use non-slip mats and they have NEVER EVER let me down yet. The foam also sounds like a good idea. Please let us know how you go

Use non skid mats and transport very cold. Then drive carefully and pray!
