Hi everyone! I was looking around at some web sites & I found one that looked interesting but I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of it. It's called 'sellcakeslikecrazy.com'. It sounds great but I wanted to see if any of you had ever heard of it or had ordered anything from it. I thought of ordering a cd or 2 but I didn't want to waste any money on it if it's not gonna be worth it. Would you care to let me know if you've ever used any of the products from that site & if they are any good? Thanks!!

Sounds like a scam. Think about it and you already have answers to the title of her CD's. How to get repeat customers? MAKE GOOD CAKES How to price your cakes? CHECK OUT THE COMPETITION (other bakeries) and price what you think is fair.

One thing I have learned from the 1 1/2 years I have been in business...make a good product at a reasonable price with spectacular customer service and customers will come to you for quality. They will also tell all of their friends and they will come to you! Word of mouth is the best advertisment there is...and that might take a little time but they will come! And if you sell your cakes for $20 people will think they are worth $20 and end up going to a grocery store. Have some confidence and price YOUR CAKES WHAT THEY ARE WORTH! Sorry to rant.

I have never bought anything, but I do receive an e-mail every once in a while about tips. Nothing great.

Ok.....I say we get 20 CC'ers together and we all chip in $1 because I am curious what kind of complicated "system" gets 7-10 cake orders per day...... sketchy?? Probably.

Well, from what you all have said, that site now sounds like something that probably wouldn't be all that helpful. I think the tip I was given about making good cakes & letting them speak for themselves will work better than what they would offer on those cd's. Thanks everyone!

Bought it. Not worth it. It's just a ton of .pdf files. This was before my CC days of course. Most of their tips involve either spending a ton of money (driving around to businesses with cake samples and handing out your cards) or aren't feasible unless you already have a big business going (call your customers and sell them a Halloween cake.)

Then, they email you useless emails non-stop trying to get you to buy more stuff and pay to get in their forums. The lady in charge's cakes aren't all that spectacular either.

Vondre' and Andreaetta Whaley have been around for ages - came across them on the Wilton site - there was a big ruckus over there about marketing on disscussion sites.

Check the Copyright © at the bottom of $$$ marketing sites - same people, different site-names, same offers.....value?

I don't know how things go in the states but I would question the fact that there were 600 entries in the state fair. Do you guys really have that many?

I just checked it out. It reminds me of some bad Saturday Night Live skit or something.
"SELL CAKES LIKE CRAZY FROM RONCO!!! we also have SELL CANDY LIKE CRAZY! and coming soon SELL MUFFINS LIKE CRAZY!!"
And kellyh57 is right. That chicks cake are not that hot. I guess that's what you get when your decorator has to make 20 cakes a day. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hopper1 you cracked me up!! I love Saturday Night Live & that does sound like a skit they would have!! LOL!! I'm glad I asked everyone here for their opinion before ordering anything from there. I knew I was finding AWESOME information on this site & I just wondered what, if anything, more those cd's would offer. I think all I need now when I bake my cakes is the perfect cheer (Saturday Night Live quote) & my little boy usually gives me one of those!!!

Hello Cake Friends,

Yes, we should all be friends and share with one another things to help us become better with decorating or selling cakes.

What we shouldn't do is bash others, especially if we don't have any first hand experience with it.

That's what's wrong with the world. Everyone is sooooo negative.

Vondre' and I have been providing other cake bakers with great information to help them build their cake business for years.

We could not stay in business if we were not providing quality products.

Is it a scam to provide details about marketing promotions, business card templates (not your regular card), phone scripts, actual letters you can use, and other strategies to build your business?

Believe it or not, you can search this forum and other resources and never find the "key information" in our courses.

We try to help others and have been successful at it.

Are we trying to sell our courses.....? YES

However, we provide tons of free information, including a tips book, a book of cakes featuring our subscribers, and a book of icing recipes. If you are one of our subscribers, you already know that.

Is Sell Cakes Like Crazy for everyone?

No....

It's for people who are serious about building a business.

If you are a casual baker or decorator, than it's not for you.

Either way, people shouldn't be negative and use words such as "Scam," if you can't truly give a foundation for your statement.

That's the farthest from the truth.

And yes, my husband Vondre' is a popular and successful internet marketer with many sites.

That's exactly why we have been able to provide such resources for cake bakers that people want and need.

Sure, my cakes are not the most beautiful in the world and I learn something new from our subscribers and others who decorate cakes every day.

My specialty is cake marketing and that's what we do.

And YES, we have between 500 - 800 cake entries each year in our State Fair. As a matter of fact, there is a huge building dedicated for baking.

But, as always, people are entitled to their own opinions.

Happy Baking!
