Ok...so I have a box Caramel cake that I want to make and really would rather have a spiced type cake but I don't want to go to the grocery. It is my birthday cake and I want to put nuts in the cake and use apples and caramel on the top ...
any ideas???

Wow, sundine, you are the first person to have the same Avatar as me! You almost have my name too! icon_biggrin.gif

I'd suggest throwing in a bunch of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger; or just some cinnamon and allspice ifyou have it. Then top it with apple pie filling with more cinnamon added. Sounds delish!

Yes Sunlover00....I saw that one day and thought..."how ironic"...to not only have the same avatar but to have a similar name. Mine of course is my last name....that way I don't forget ... icon_lol.gif

When I found my avatar I had done a google search and had to make it smaller to get it on there. Where in Ohio are you? I was born in Dayton but live in Indiana on the OH/IN line....

I live in Wapakoneta; birthplace of Neal Armstrong. Unfortunatley, around here, I can't pull big prices for cakes like everyone else gets. icon_sad.gif

OOPS I didn't mean to change my avatar...I was browsing my files and Homer went in! Yikes! now I have to find my old one....I like my cake eating monster! icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe I'll search for a newer one.....

Thank you! Well I made the cake ...added some cinnamon and cloves to the mix and a few apples. The icing was a flop but all mixed together it tastes pretty good. Not a cake to post in photo's....it looks like a smooshed litter box to me....
