I absolutely love CC!! I have been reading and reading since I joined. I thought the FBCT were way cool, along with everything else!! There are so many things I can't wait to try. So I tried a FBCT first. icon_biggrin.gif I did a Strawberry shortcake one lil over a week ago, and then this last weekend I did a Superman one. I loved doing it!! It was so neat to do. I think they turned out ok, and both ppl I did them for loved them!! thumbs_up.gif I was so scared they would look funny since it was my first few times... Oh, and I did the Viva paper towel thing too, and it was great!! Anyways, I'll stop babbling now and here are the pics of them.

They look great!! So smooth, and great detail. I have done one, but not with your success. Will be trying another one next week. I have been reading all the advice, and think I am ready, but would like to hear how you did yours. Any tips are much appreciated.
Thanks.

Thank you ladies!!! I can't wait to learn more, and do some of the Awesome cakes you all do with the fondant and gumpaste. icon_smile.gif

bulldog I learned that you should have all the colors your going to use, made, and in bags!! LOL With the first one I didn't have my colors colored and in bags and my outline crusted, and broke a bit in places. Thank God I could fix it..... The other thing I learned is I am not very good with Step 7. smooth the back while gently pushing without blending your colors underneath thing... Instead I just used my finger, to push it... It was easier, and no blending of the colors!! And I also let the colors crust a little before smoothing them. icon_lol.gif

Both are very nice. I have yet to try this technique. You've done a wonderful job, and on the first try. Maybe I really should give it a go. Your success is my inspiration. Great Job!

Thank you Tammie Marie. Yeah give it a go, and see if it works fo ryou too. The smoothing it with a spatula didn't work to well for me.. maybe I'm not coordinated enuff, who knows??!?!? icon_lol.gif

Ok,here is the pic of my FBCT in progress. It is on the cake and is thick so it is raised from the top of the cake. Is this right? Should I go around it with a border? I plan to do a blue border around the top of the cake.

Very nicely done. As for the border well I'm undecided lol That color blue is very striking so I think it would look nice but on the other hand it may take away from the center visual lol I know I'm not much help. icon_biggrin.gif
