Where can I find caramel in large quantities? This is for filling for a wedding cake and also for 100 caramel apples. thanks.

I've seen a great big log of caramel at my local cake decorating store. Beats the heck out of unwrapping thousands of little caramels. icon_wink.gif

You could also make your own caramel--I posted my favorite recipe in a thread around here recently.

You might try CountryKitchensa.com or Sugarcraft.com . Both have physical stores but do internet shipping also...

This is a really 'desperate' way, but ask your local restaurant if you can buy a can of their caramel. Most places like Applebee's, Red Robin, Ruby Tuesdays, etc. have theirs come in in large cans.
P.S. I tried to make my own using the 'boiling for 4 hours' method with sweetened condensed milk and either my can was bad or just plain ol' YUCK. Mine did not work!

I have tried making my own several times and it just doesn't come out right. I am getting down to the wire here. The wedding is my daughter's and it's on Oct 14. So I really need to find a place soon. Thanks for the suggestions.
