For the coconut cake this is a good recipe http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/102696
I just made this yesterday & man was the batter wonderful (yes, I know, it has raw eggs in it). I put the cake in the freezer & I plan to decorate later this week. I plan on using some kind of pineapple filling & pinacolada bc. This is my first scratch layer cake & I hope it turns out great.
The recipes all sound so good ! Does anyone have a recipe for CHOC MUD CAKE !??? Or where to find one ?? Thanks !
These are ALL making my mouth water!! There are soooo many that sound delicious- I dont know which one to try making first.
Thats part of my problem with cakes.....I want to try so many new recipes or attempt several decorating techniques..which leads to not being able make a decision on which to do first......which usually ends with me doing NOTHING. ![]()
I couldn't have even dreamed of some of the gorgeous souding flavours that you have!
Obviously there are a few exceptions, but generally in the UK, we tend to have:
Vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam.
Chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream or chocolate ganache
Lemon cake with lemon curd buttercream
Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
Rich fruit cake (no fillings)
