Our family loves Halloween! Every year we totally decorate the house, and have a big Halloween party (adults only). But this year, I want to do something different, maybe revolving around a theme... come dressed as... your favorite decade, dead movie / rock star - I've thought about those, but I'm wanting something diffferent - any suggestions or fun parties you've been to, with a theme?!
LOL! Come dressed as your favorite food ![]()
I have always wanted to have a Halloween party but I feel totally clue-less. I saw a 'Martha" from a couple of years back where she hacked off the end of a whisk and dipped it into melted sugar to make the cobwebs......
How about a murder mystery theme.Everyone can come
dressed as mobster's or a dracula murder mystery or pirates. The list is endless.i found this site you can get ideas from.http://www.acemurdermystery.com
I hope this helps .My family loves halloween too.

That sounds so fun!
We do the same thing every year at Halloween. It's always been a big deal in our family, my parents were married on Halloween.
Each year we pick a them and alternate on who picks, two years ago my hubby pick Star Trek-the Borgs. I dressed up as the Borg Queen (skin head and all) and he was a drone. Last year I picked Marc Antony and Cleopatra. This year it's Pirates of the Caribbean. We work on it all year. I'm toying with ideas for next year right now.
We always have at least one game that the winner gets "dinner & a movie" for two ($50 gift card to local restaurant and 2 movies tickets). Two years ago we did "wrap your mummy" and last year it was a caramel apple eating contest, Well that's what we first told every one, in reality there was one caramel onion! The one who got the onion won the prize. It was funny seeing everyone ripping into the apples as fast as they could to finish and the guy who got the onion had the sourest look on his face looking at everyone else chowing away!!!
Still trying to decide what game for this year!
Also we put on a big finger food spread! and homemade pumpkin beer.
Now that I've shared mine, please share yours! ![]()
Hey "Mama" Sounds like you guys have some great parties! (Where in CA are you? I'm from Newbury Park) I think we're working on "Macabre Fairytale" theme... Not sure yet, but my costumer idea is "Malice in Wonderland"! I need to find a Mad Hatter hat for my hubby!
The only thing, is, I did a search last night... and though there's tons of ideas for women, no so much for men. They may have to get really creative! But that's the idea! We totally deck out the house... Coffins, rats, candles, I totally gore out my guest bath, we have a big TV and run creepy movies, lots of food and brew! Can't wait!
Hey I'm with ya! Our guest bathroom becomes the bathroom scene from psycho, all the way down to the management policy and check out times framed and hung on the wall. I even had towels made that say "Bates Motel" on them. Got the big knife, shower curtain with slashed and "blood splatter", and the blood in the shower.
We even set up a "witches brewing station". Got the big cauldron (filled with dry ice) and I save jars all year to put stuff in. Got a big pickle jar that I put a rubber mask in with water and a little red food coloring and a splash or two of milk , pretty creepy.
We re-name all the food like the little hot dogs in puff pastry become "mummy dogs" or "mummified fingers".
We move the furniture all around, cover everything in white sheets and sometime baby powder (dust), cob webs everywhere. We line the walls with the pre-made cardboard "create-a-scene" or with construction paper (we buy it by the 3' wide roll at Home Depot) and paint our own scenes.
We have a big screen TV too, depends on the theme on what we are showing. for the Borg theme we played the Star Trek movie that had the Borgs in it (First Contact?). Last year for Marc Antony and Cleopatra we play the Richard Burton and Liz Taylor Cleopatra movie.
Check Disney for a Mad Hatter Hat!
Oh, BTW we're in San Diego.
I like your "Macabre Fairytale" theme, very creative!!!!! ![]()
