Ok quick question. I made a cake last night piping stars over the entire surface it looks great, but the icing is a little hard. I'm scared that it won't soften up is there a trick that I can use to soften it up some. I used a buttercream box icing mix and colored it several different colors. Cake has to be delivered at noon today (Sunday). It's in the fridge right now but I am about to set it out. Will it soften on it's own?

If left uncovered if will curst and harden. If you have some type of cover to put over it you might be able to soften it up a bit. HTH

Room temp should do the trick.

Ok, I have taken it out of the fridge and covered it so hopefully it'll work for the sake of mouths of the family. icon_biggrin.gif
