That writing is added on the photo in photoshop-not on the cake itself.

Find a font you like then print it mirror image. trace it with piping gel and put onto the cake. That way you have the piping gel in the font you want and you can just trace over that with yout icing! HTH icon_smile.gif

I think she means the writing on her cakes not the watermark signature

I find the font I want to use on www.acidfonts.com. After I install it I type what I'd like to write and print it out. Then I practice it freehand on paper then when I'm satisfied I'll write on the cake.

Writing can really make or break a cake can't it? It's my least favorite thing!

is that watermarks or was that actually written on the cakes? looks like it wasnt written on the cakes and that it was just fonts laid over the cakes from a program on the computer...

Yes, it is just a water mark font added in a program such as photoshop. It's not actualyl on the cake.

The best way to practice writing on cakes is to get a job at a grocery store where you have to write "Happy Birthday" 3,000 times a day, your handwriting gets soooo much better icon_wink.gif

My poor old carpel tunneled hand would fall off if I had to write Happy Birthday that many times. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I am so horrible at writing on a cake that I do it on the cake board...it is much easier as it is not high up...more like writing on paper and it turns out not too badly..I usually print.

I have seen people print out on edible icing sheets and then stick it on a gumpaste plaque...also looks good and is easy.

I am not help at actually writing on top of cakes but if you wanted alternatives....

Any chance I get at writing on rice paper with those edible markers, I take. I'm terrible too at writing on cakes but I will try the mirror image with piping gel. That will help me alot. It's weird that I have really good handwriting but just can't do it worth a flip on cakes.

LOL barbaranoel...

The place I take cake decorating does teach writing. If your writing isn't all that great on paper though it's harder on a cake.

Writing on a cake is different, sometime I can do okay on a board but once I get to the cake UGH.. at least for me.
