I wanted to try the cookies and cream filling for dd's 4th birthday cake tomorrow, but i'm just so swamped, i don't have time to try something new. Then i saw some Oreo pudding at the store. will that work as a good filling??

Thanks!

I have used it before. I made the recipe for the pie filling; it's a little thicker. I also put a thin coating of buttercream on the layers, as a barrier, so that the filling did not absorb into the cake. Does that make sense? I used vanilla pudding. Have not tried the Oreo, but I have a box. Let us know how it goes. icon_razz.gif

can make an oreo filling just by crushing oreos and mixing into your buttercream

----

and as Honeydukes said -- if doing pudding -- make it at pie filling thickness at least (if not even a little thicker

spread only about 1/4 in thick

don't forget an icing dam of stiff BC or you could have a blow out/bulge and leaking filling!
