Help-Sturdy Cake Recipe Needed For Fair-Will Not Be Tasted

Hi everyone
I am sure this has been discussed but I am not savvy enough to find it through searching 
I need a good durible recipe for stacking that can be baked a week ahead so I can decorate it for our fair. No dummy cakes are allowed...but the cake will not be cut. Thank you!!!!

Or fruit cake is pretty durable and lasts for ages.
