I'm just starting a business of my own and I'm wondering where I can buy cake boxes, boards, mylar paper (spelling?), etc. other than at my local bakery. I would much rather order them online rather than running to my local bakery whenever I need a box or board.

Do you have a Michael's, Hobby Lobby or something of the like near you? That's where I get most of my supplies. And a cake and candy supply store just opened up near me, so that's been great!

There is a Michael's and Hobby Lobby about an hour away but I find that they don't carry the exact things that I'm looking for. I've noticed that they don't have a lot of variety, size wise, when it comes to boards and boxes.

That's too bad, I find that between my Michael's and HL, I can get just about anything. I haven't purchased anything from CC yet, but it seems like they've got quite a variety.

A couple of sites I've found for boxes, etc are:
http://www.candylandcrafts.com/cake_boxes.htm
http://www.ccwsupply.com/cakedec/board3.asp

If you try doing a search for what you are looking for, I guarantee you'll come up with many more sites than you could ever use. Oh, and I've gotten some stuff at Kitchencrafts.com, and I really like them.

I recommend Country Kitchens: www.countrykitchensa.com

They have a lot of cake-related items, great customer service and ship fast.

nah, HL and michaels only sell wilton stuff, which is usually way overpriced and not as good as other brands. i only go there with the 40% off coupon when i need gumpaste or a spatula or something. for anything important you're much better off buying from a cake deco store with several brands, or ordering online.

I second what Miriel suggested... www.countrykitchensa.com. Fabulous customer service! VERY quick delivery time...I usually have my orders in 3 business days...regular delivery. If they're out of something, you always get a phone call...not an e-mail...letting you know. I buy all of my boxes, candy molds, coloring pastes, dusts, LorAnn oils, etc., from them. Never ever had any problems, and I order weekly. Can't recommend them enough. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Have a blessed day,
Amy

ya know i always look a their website, but when im running price comparisons before my orders, intotheoven always comes out cheaper than countrykitchen, usually before as well as after shipping.

I really like shopbakersknook. com they have the cheapest products that I can find on the web. They don't carry everything though, but are adding new products all the time. They only have about 1/2 their store online right now.

GReat service, fast and cheap shipping

In the oven is awesome. Inexpensive. Fast shipping. There is also www.cakeartpartystore.com I order from them when I need something here in one day because they are 3 hours up the road, but they are more expensive that intotheoven, yet comparable to countrykitchenusa

Where are you at in Kansas? My shop is located in the SE corner and I have EVERYTHING a cake decorator could possibly want and then some, including boards and boxes by the case. If you're not close, you might look around for an independent shop near you. Most of us are really happy to find a loyal and frequent customer we can take care of! I special order stuff all the time for my regulars, sizes, cutters, whatever! HTH -Lori

My order came SO fast and was packaged great. They also have a brand new forum. icon_smile.gif

I don't know if this is even a franchise, but today I went to PARTY AMERICA. They had oodles of cardboard cake rounds, and cake boxes of all sizes.
