This is just the start of it all. When they finally leave for college, you will be better prepared. They start a little at a time. My first has been in college 3 years (thank goodness for nextel) !! I missed her so much the first semester and then realized it was the best for her. She loves it!

My oldest is 20. He left for a debate camp the summer between his jr and sr year of high school. I was only 2 weeks but I thought I'd die. Survived that...then he graduated hs and left for college. I decided to take cake decorating classes so I'd have something completely new to think about. It worked well for me.... although, about the time I got used to him being gone (AND NEVER CALLING), he came back home. icon_wink.gif I'm still making cakes.

You might want to see if your local hobby shop offers some class in candy making or something you'd like to try.

Oy! As much as I am forever wanting the kids to give me a break, I am dreading when my youngest will leave. Granted, I have another 13 years before she will be 18 but I knew that would need to get going on a job/hobby long before then so I don't lose it all together.

I am thinking of you! Just remember, they all go a bit nuts at that age and for the next couple years too, but they always come back to ya'. I remember that time as being one of the most trying times between my Mom and I because I was trying to develop my own independance and she was trying to deal with not being in control.

Oddly enough, she said the day I moved out she got the best night sleep ever icon_confused.gif .....because she said when I lived at home, she was always worried where I was, was I ok, when would I be home. But when I was gone she had no clue therefore had no reason to worry....

Awww............I feel for you!

Mine are only 4 & 5 and I'm already missing them crawling & taking bottles! I can't imagine it getting worse than it is already! But, I guess that's what we raise them for. Oh who am I kidding!!!!! I'd keep him babies forever if I could, lol!

I hope your dd has a safe trip and makes it back home to her sad mommy.
