I read here to freeze the cake before I carve it. Do you wrap it in foil and the a zip lock freezer bag or just stick it in the freezer without anything. Thanks for the help thumbs_up.gif

I usually just go ahead and put some saran around it, I have a self defrosting freezer, not good on anything uncovered. Janice

I wrap in plastic wrap......and then in some foil if it's going to be in there more than an hour or two.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I did. Not sure how long to keep it in there...it is the car cake pan, I am practicing my McQueen Lightening cake for grandson's birthday at the end of the month.

Thanks again thumbs_up.gif

I usually just wrap in plastic bag or saran for the time it needs to freeze. Sometimes you have to carve for a little while and put it back in the freezer, and keep doing this until its done. Depending on the size of your cake, you may have to do this several times.

Thanks for the update, cupcake. It's been in the freezer for a few hours now so I will see if it is still soft. It's the car cake pan so it is pretty thick. thumbs_up.gif
