Everytime I make a molded cake like the Wilton's bear or bunny cake, it falls over in the car. How can I keep the cake sitting up when I'm delivering the cake?

Have you tried putting a dowl down through the center of it and into the cake board? It should sturdy it up a bit. HTH

Glue it to the cake plate with icing and put on a flat surface, seats are never completely flat so the trunk or floor.

I totally agree with mbelgar!

first, glue the cake to the cake board! just use your frosting to do this. smear a couple of tablespoons of frosting (depends on size of cake) on the board and place your cake on it. This will "glue" the cake to the board.

2nd, transport the cake on a clean, flat, level surface where there are no obstacles that could roll and collide with the cake.

3rd, put a rubberised mat under the cake board to keep the board (and cake) from sliding around while in transport. I use the spongy, waffle-like all-purpose shelf liner.

This should solve your problem for the size and type of cake you described.

all that plus - a plastic bin or box! It also makes it easier to carry icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the help. I'm going to bake the turkey cake from the wilton's duck pan for my grandma's birthday next month. I'll try gluing it when I take it to her house.
