If you were just starting out and didn't have a lot of money which airbrush system would you buy?
Are there certain ones you should use if decorating cakes?
I mean, does it have to be food grade, or are all airbrushes equal?
Reason I ask is that I know where I can get one really cheap, but it isn't necessarily for cakes.
My husband says there is no difference.
Thanks, doleta

I just bought one at Home Depot for $3.98. The brand name is Preval. I haven't used it yet.

The airbrush systems for cakes are designed for food grade. The sprayer is made of polished stainless. I would look at what it is made of. You would not want to put food color in something that might rust or have a metal taste. Besides I don't know about the PSI. Some of those are designed for paint, which is a thicker consistency, they may have more pressure then you need. I don't know if those have a control to lower the presure. I am not an expert, but just thinking of things you should lookat. Also the tips may be different and have a larger spraying capacity.
