Are you talking about the Wilton "Decorate to Celebrate" contest? If so, I haven't seen anything on the Web Site about voting yet. I entered about 5 cakes and 5 or 6 cookies. Can you give me some more info if this is the competition your talking about?

That's exactly what we're talking about! I think it will be mid- to end of October before voting occurs. From what I understand, the judges will narrow it down to semi-finalists in each category from which we can vote so I'd imagine it would take a bit of time for them to select the semi-finalists. Just keep checking their site! And GOOD LUCK!!! I have seen your cookies in your gallery . . . they are awesome!!!
Yeah, it SAYS voting will begin in Oct, but I keep checking and it hasn't started yet (although I haven't checked today - watch it be today and I'll look like a total dummy!
)
For those of you that do cookies...do you do it as an add on to your cake bus, or as a stand alone bus or just as a hobby?
I'm thinking about adding cookies on to my cakes, but I'm not sure what I'd charge...

no ..no..no
they were going to accept the pictures by mail until the oct 9th but they were supposed to be send by the sept30th, so i think...they will pick the cakes this coming week and maybe by the next weekend or so they will post the choosen cakes and cookies ,etc.
so dont wait for this week...... ![]()

I'd like to hear the answer to that as well! I'm in hobby-mode and don't sell anything yet. But I just started decorating cookies and LOVE it! So any info. that anyone can give is greatly appreciated!
A good rule of thumb about selling decorated cookies is a dollar per inch. If the decorating is real elaborate, like the one below, I would charge about $10-$15 per cookie.

well now that i know how much time it takes to make this stuff i agree with your price....but ...good luck finding people that will pay like that my income it is so precise that i could not afford!
that it is why i get mad at costumers that they want cheap prices.. but i think maybe they cant afford either...but i think ,my self couldnt pay for a cake more than 50$ right now....but i will love a cake so nice!
but a get happy thinking ..at least my kids will have for the rest of their lives a cake that could be worth more that 100,s of dollars......
and i dont have to pay that price! ![]()

Yea, part of it depends on where you live. I live in the San Francisco Bay area so $10 per cookie, given the income and cost of living, is about right. If I were living in Oregon the cost would be much lower. I hate when people ask for a discount. That just happened to me today. Considering it talks me up to 45 minutes per cookie, I'm not making much money to begin with. Good think I do it for the enjoyment and not a living.
