I did a spaghetti cake some years ago for a cake show. I haven't digitized the picture yet, but here are some ideas:

For the sauce, I had some red jam or pie filling and put some orange coloring in it to make it more tomato-y looking.

Crumbled dried mint or basil make nice "parsley". (Strawberry and basil taste real well together)

Ground almonds make really good "Parmesan cheese". Leave the lumps in!

And for the meatballs, I made a chocolate version of Rice Krispie Squares: Nutella instead of peanut butter, Cocoa Krispies if you have them in your area, brown sugar instead of white, a few large oreo crumbs for texture, shaped by greased hand and a little cocoa dusting/painting if needed on pale spots.

Use a large hair tip #234 and ivory icing for the pasta.

When I did this cake, I hate to brag but at least twice during the show, someone tried to throw out my display: Hey someone left their lunch here! icon_rolleyes.gif

Good luck and please let us know how it goes!
