Hi everyone who is in to modelling!

I have been using some wilton people moulds that I got cheap from Ebay, but I am struggling!

I have used gum paste, modelling paste and fondant gum paste 50/50 and I find it is so soft.

I find that when I push the modelling stuff into the mould, it is hard to get the excess from around the mould without the paste coming out of the mould, also I lightly greased the mould but found the models difficult to release as they are so soft.

After i get them out I find it difficult to pose them as again they are too soft, my latest tonight looks like a crash tst dummy with a broken neck.

'How can I reduce the softness whilst maintaining the pliability and not makin the models crumbley...

Does this make sense? I know I tend to ramble in my posts!!!

My hubby gave me an idea....

would putting them in the fridge whilst still in the mould work?

I have some letter moulds that I had the same problem with - the letters got stuck and then ended up squished when I tried to get them out. Now I pop them in the freezer for 15-20 mins and they come out easily and because they're semi-frozen, they don't distort. Putting them in the freezer doesn't affect the look of them or the consistency of the paste (I use modelling paste made with fondant and CMC).
