I am planning to ice a cake in Stabilized whip cream for my first time. I plan to ice the cake in white, then pipe on decorations with the same type of icing that has been colored. Will the color bleed onto the white? I have only used BC and want to know what to expect. Thanks!

Welcome to CC!

Stick to very light colors and you'll probably be ok. The time I had bleeding w/ wc icing was with dark colors.

If you're planning on decorating and serving that day, or even the next, it should be fine. I never noticed bleeding until after a few days, and that was if it got a little warm.

I do know at the bakery I worked in, we never left cakes in the case for more than 3 days, and when I would go to toss them out there was very little bleeding. That was with dark red roses and dark green leaves (at least as dark as you can get whipped icing)

Hope this helps,

Holly

OK Ladies, Thanks. I didn't get your response in time and I put black fondant on my white whipped. A disaster BUT the cake is for my sister who will love and AND, it tastes yummy.
