Not sure if this tip was posted before but I've taken over our microwave as a storage area for foodstuffs. Since its sealed airtight it works great to keep cakes/cookies fresh, fondant from drying out, minimal drying on fondant decorations loosely wrapped (and of course loafs of bread). Of course its a pain in the a$$ when someone in the family wants to make popcorn!

Interesting tip. I can't imagine using mine for that though, too many years of constant use and minimal cleaning has left a very stale smell. Fondant decorations smelling like the inside of my microwave....yuck. Worse than the refridgerator. But that is just me. I'm not a great housekeeper.

LOL - we just remodeled the kitchen so don't have this problem yet - will need to keep an eye on it in the future!
