ok so i made cucakes, red velvet mix, 1 stick of butter, 1 box of van pudding, milk, and 3 eggs with an extra egg yolk. *put my batter in a large ziploc bag then snipped the end to just pipe into my cups. baked for what i am guessing was way too long, b/c i took them out after i checked them with a toothpick & they were so big and looked nice, i turned around to wipe off my counter top, then BAM this is what i got...

nice huh....

This happened to me just last weekend for a fundraising sale. It was a butter recipe too. I think I over filled the cups. Of course I had to redue them and that time they turned out, but it wasn't a butter recipe. I'm curious too!

I'm going to give you another bump because my cc did the same thing to me! I asked somebody on her about it one time and they told me that it may be the oven temp was not correct. I got an oven thermometer, so we will see! icon_biggrin.gif

Wow, there must be a cupcake curse because I had the same thing happen to me lastweek two times! icon_surprised.gif I finally turned my oven down to about 335 degrees and baked longer. They came out perfect. By then, I was so disgusted with them that I lost interest in decorating them! icon_lol.gif

will try turning down temp next time, i just figured i'd do cupcakes to practice on since my "practice cakes" get eaten even before they can crust!!
