At what point do a baby's eye color set? I know most babies are born with blue eyes...my boys ended up having brown...but my daughter is 18 months and her eyes are still very blue. I can't remember when my boys' eye color changed...so I was just curious if anyone actually knew?

Well, we never had to worry about our kids, we all have blue eyes. icon_lol.gif

My doc said, though, that usually by a year they are set, but some can change colors well into year 2. My sister's daughter is about 15 months and she still has blue eyes. We did not expect it, because both my sister and the father have brown eyes and her other daughter has brown eyes, but her son has blue. I know all about the genetics of it, but you always have some expectations ya know? icon_lol.gif Anyway, her eyes have started getting darker, but just a darker blue. We are hoping that they stay blue because she will be the only one out of all the kids (mine, and both my sisters') that will have black hair and blue eyes. All my kids are blonde, blue-eyed, my other sister's daughter has brown eyes and brown hair. Okay, way too much info, huh? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I was born with blue eyes, and they stayed blue all the way through elementary school. When I was in junior high (around 12 years old), they started to shift more toward grey. By age 18, they were no longer even remotely blue. Now, they are two-toned, with a gold inner ring around the pupil and a gray outer ring.

My son was also born with blue eyes, and for the past 13 1/2 years has had to deal with complete strangers commenting on his eyes. I noticed the other day, though, that the blue is definitely more grayish that it used to be, and that there is a definite ring, just not contrasing (yet?).

not weird at all, I've been told my eyes change sometimes with my mood sometimes just with the clothes I'm wearing. I've always been jealous of all my siblings (all 6 have blue eyes) because I'm the only one with green eyes (with a blue ring around them). The day my mother died (she had amazing blue eyes) for just a few minutes my eyes were blue, it really freaked my husband out! icon_eek.gif

My oldest is like that, not so much any more but well into age 4 any clothing changes and stuff would affect the eye color.
I know most babies are born with blue eyes but my mother said I never had them, my eyes were always really dark.

I have 2 kids with brown eyes and 2 with blue. My eyes change colors with certain shades of colors I'm wearing. I have blue/gray eyes with a little green, so if I'm in green my eyes are more green and hence forth....
