Okay tonight I have a baby shower cake that I'm suppose to do, and I need your opinion on what colour the frosting should be.
Should I use a yellow colour BC frosting, or perhaps orange?
Opinions please ![]()
The baby shower is NOT the traditional "pastel" colours, but are more vivid, the theme is "under construction".
I will be doing a 1/2 sheet cake, w/ 2 edible images, I'm posting a pic (hopefully it's clear) to give an idea of just how vivid the colours will be.
Yellow for sure!
(Edited to add - could not see the picture either...)
I can see the pic (copy and pasted the URL from the red x) I would also say go with the yellow. Good Luck!!

Okay time for more questions ![]()
What colour should the border be?
I'm also doing the word "baby" in 3-d block letters. What colours should I use for the blocks?
( I plan on doing an outline in black frosting for the blocks, and b/c of the 3-d effect I'm also going to do some w/ a diagonal orange/black effect, and possibly diagonal yellow/black. )
Here is the link to the picture of the edible image

If it were me I would probably do blue or something like that for the background icing. I think since the trucks are already yellow/orange, the trucks might stand out better against a complimentary color.
I can't see the picture either. But if you are going with bold yellow, why not bring in some other vibrant colors, like orange, dark red, blue, purple, etc? These would be in smaller quantities than the yellow, so I don't think it would be too overpowering. Also, the darker colors would be a nice contrast to the yellow. Just a thought.
