I have to make a sheet cake 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white single layer no filling for about 35 people. I was thinking of making 2 (9x13) and stick them together but I'm afraid the slices will be kind of small ( I don't go by the charts) I also own a 11x15 pan I could make 2 of those, what do you guys think? Also when I stickk the cakes together, I"m afraid it will crack or show some how were it was put together. Any tips on that ?Thanks a lot Caixa

I thinkmost people would agree that a 12x18 serves about 50 people (2x2 pieces) and that's basically what you'd be making with two 9x13s. They aren't real big pieces but you aren't feeding that many so the pieces would be a little bigger.

Forgot to add that the seam won't show if the cakes are the same height and put right next to each other. The fish and tow truck sheet cakes in my photos were done with two 9x13s since I don't have a 12x18.

Two, one layer, 9x13 cakes will serve 38. This is based on a two inch high cake, cut into 2"x3" servings (yielding the quite generous party serving size of 12 square inches each).

And no, as mbelgard said, the seam won't show.
