For those of you who had a problem with crumbs you should definately try the cake release! I used it for the first time today and i practically scraped the icing into my cake and there were no crumbs. It's magic

I love it too. Some people use a homemade version that is on this site somewhere. I haven't tried it yet. I like Wilton's & probably will not change.

Hey All!

I just wanted to give you the pan grease recipe that I use. I got it from another baker, and it's worked for me for years!! (AND, it's SUPER-Cheap to make!)

Equal parts Crisco veg. shortening, a.p. flour, and veg. oil.

I use a bit extra flour for my version, because I think it paints onto the pan a lot smoother and more evenly.

I love cake release too!!!!!!!!!!! It saves time not having to use parchment or wax paper! Question, though, do any of you still use parchment even with cake release? I've made up to an 11X15 cake without parchment, but when I do a cake for someone else, I still line it, "just in case". Curious to see if you guys use the parchment, too or just brush on the cake release. icon_smile.gif

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was amazed the first time I used cake release. Never again will I do the old crisco and flour method. I even used this on brand new cake pans and my cakes came out in one piece and no crumbs!!! icon_eek.gif (I used to have issues with cakes sticking in brand new pans until I had "broken" them in!!)

The stuff is fabulous......I use it ever time and my cakes pop right out of the pan.

The cakes are smooth and crumb free. I have even used it on my 11X15 brand new cake pan and she pops right out everytime.
