Ok, so I am wondering what I can use to achieve a powdered snow look on top of my cake? Surely there are some wise, inventive souls here on CC who can lead me in the right direction. icon_lol.gif

I am envisioning small snow drifts on top of a 6" round. I don't want just a pile of bc or coconut or powdered sugar.... but maybe I would have to do bc with something sprinkled or brushed onto it? Yes? No? icon_confused.gif

Thoughts? Help? I have to start this weekend. Any help would be Great!!!

You could do the base with buttercream then dust it with regular that you put through a food processor or blender to make it a little finer or dust with some of the little sugar sparkles that wilton has to give it a little sparkle.

What about cake balls that are covered in white chocolate?

Just a thought I'm setting here looking at a plate full and trying not to eat any!!!

Make the shape with buttercream, then sprinkle with Wilton Cake sparkles....

They have a snowflake cake on their website with the cake sparkles, and it looks very snow-like!

I've used mini marshmallows before gathered together on top of a cake to form clouds, I'm sure it would work for snow drifts too. It gave it a really neat 3-d look. Hope you find what you're looking for.
