Where are you going to get the tattoo? Meaning where on your body? I wanted my kids names (3 also) around my ankle but they wouldnt do it because they said it would be all squishy looking. I have their birth symbols instead. It might be a good idea to go into the place where you want to have it done and tell them what you are thinking and have them draw it out for you.

I don't have a picture but I knew a gal once who had a rather large dragonfly on her back. In the wings her kids names were written. It was obvious what it was if you knew it was there but if you didn't it just didn't jump out . Pretty cool

I like the shooting star thing . . . my girlfriend did a single star on her shoulder blade for her son in the same way.

I don't particularly like names since they dont seem to age very well and would be difficult to touch up years down the road . . .

I plan on getting their footprints from the birthcertificates done when we have kids.

thats really a cute idea. i love the star idea though. my dh has my name on him and has had it for about 5 years and so far it looks great. i think it may depend on the size and such. i am so excited abou tit once its done i will post a pic

Just keep in mind that tattoos fade and distort slightly with time . . . the smaller and more detailed, the more it will change as you age.

5 years is nothing . . . try thinking ahead 20 to 30 years . . . at some point you are going to most likely have to touch up your artwork. I have one on my lower stomach that I got at 19 . . . 11 years later it is already a bit distorted. Imagine after I have kids!

Don't get me wrong, I love tattoos . . . but just keep in mind that these things dont go away so you want to pick a design that will age gracefully and take touchups well.

oh yeah i know my dh has about 30 tattoos. i think the shooting star with thier names is simple but cool. it wont be a small tattoo either.
