Help please!! I've been wracking my brain on this....
Making my first 4 tier cake in 3 weeks. I'm going to use fondant ribbon around the bottom of each tier, so I really think I need all tiers stacked before I put the ribbon on- therefore I'd like to be able to put it together at home. I have to drive 30 minutes to another town to deliver it. I'm nervous about delivering it in one piece, though I've done several 3 tier ones to the same place & it's been okay. If I dowel it in the center should it be okay?? or should I just be safe & drag all my supplies to the reception site to set it up there the day before?? I was hoping someone could give me a little advice. (I hate putting stuff together with other people there watching also, so I've even debated on putting 2 & 2 tiers together, if possible, then just setting the 2 sets together at the site- but I think like I said i think they should all be stacked before I put on the ribbon....there's my dilemna). SORRY SO LONG!

Ok i have had major disasters in my cake life so i say go eary and set up , the lady whom made my cake stacks just like that two x two and inserts into a tight cardboard box not cake box by a heavy corragated one .

I would not transport 4 tiers personally. Try stacking the bottom two and then maybe the top two together and then when you get there put the top two on the bottom two.

You can still put the ribbon on when you get there it will only take a moment.

Plus the weight of all 4 tiers together might make it hard to carry. Best wishes, : )
