Oh... I hate lovebugs! They are driving me crazy. This is the worst year for them that I can remember! Can't wait for the little buggers to be gone!

I, too, am loving this weather!!
Yesterday sitting out on the bleachers at my son's football game, brought a thermos of coffee for hubby (he hates Michigan weather), hot chocolate for my other son; and ice cold cider for me! The colors are really changing here too which only accents the beauty of the season! And Halloween is coming!! My favorite holiday!!!

It's starting to get very colorful here in West Virginia. Its been quite cool here of a morning. I love the fact that Halloween is coming (but of course that's my birthday), but I love putting my fall decorations out. I was going to do that today, but its raining here. So I will have to save until maybe tomorrow.

I love Fall ... I think it's my favorite season. I do get nostalgic this time of year too, though. I don't know what it is. I think it reminds me of leaving for college every fall and having to say goodbye to my family and friends at home. I especially love college football (GO BUCKS!!!!!) this time of year. I love the cooler weather and really love the colorful leaves. The maple leaves are starting to turn red here, and they are beautiful! I really love that's it's warm during the day and then cool at night, because I love having the windows open at night. Great sleeping weather! I was watching the weather forecast on the local news tonight, and it is supposed to get up into the 80's on Tuesday! We always get an Indian Summer right about now. I just put our fall decorations outside today. Pumpkins, cornstalks, fall-themed wreath on the front door, mums everywhere. I love it!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

My family loves this time of year. My DD B-Day is Oct 28th. Son's 16th B-Day is Dec 20th. So they are driving me crazy with cake ideas icon_biggrin.gif . Anyway back to fall. Today here in Nebraska it was 90. But wait a few days it will be 70. We change so much from day to day or hour to hour icon_cry.gif I love fall and winter foods. So does my BUTT icon_cry.gif You gotta love comfort foods icon_biggrin.gif Casseroles, Stews, Pasta, THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS all evil foods you gotta love icon_biggrin.gif I dread the snow. This year I will stock up on MY DIET PEPSI. AND HIDE IT icon_lol.gif I WILL NOT BE STRANDED IN A SNOW STORM AGAIN WITH KIDS AND DH WITHOUT ANY CAFFEINE Or BOOZE. It was along 4 days last fall/ winter. It was nice but they get on your nerves when you here I am board every hour icon_cry.gif That is when the booze is needed icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif I really do like Fall. It smells so good and brings good memories of my G-MA baking icon_biggrin.gif

I LOVE fall, too. Some of us were reminiscing about fall at work last year - - crisp leaves, cool weather, pumpkins and pumpkin pie, caramel apples, football, flannel shirts, warm jammies and slippers. We decided to have a Welcome Fall party where we had to dress in our favorite comfortable fall clothes and bring our favorite fall food. We planned it on a day where the Broncos were playing the Raiders. Oh, what a perfect day !! It was just us girls (about 20 of us) and did we have fun.

I used to get SAD, too (seasonal affective disorder). I used to get depressed when the days started getting shorter and I thought of going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Then I changed my way of thinking - and told myself that there is a reason for all of this. I look at it as a time for us to wind down from the hectic summer and get recharged for the next spring and summer (when we are on the go until all hours of the night since the weather is so beautiful). It's our hibernation time (just like the bears). So, now I welcome the down time. Eat an early dinner, watch some good shows on tv, bake something that smells REALLY good and snuggle into that nice warm furry blanket with my kitties next to me. Ahhhhhhh. Can't do that in the blazing heat of the summer!
