Hello .. I plan on making a fall cake for a new store opening up in town, I have some mums made up but I was just wondering if any of you guys put leaves around your mums? If you do, do you make them like you would rose leaves? The mums are royal icing, the leaves would be out of buttercream frosting ... any help is appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

I just did a cake with mums and I put leaves on it. I don't use the #67 tip, I can't remember the number, but it looks like a Pacman. (Did I just date myself?) I used that tip and just made them a bit shorter than I do for roses. I wondered about putting the leaves on at first because I pressed leaf cookie cutters into the icing and filled them in as well as a ribbon and some lettering. I didn't want to clutter it up, but I'm glad I put them in. It really completed it. Hope that helps!
