I have a grooms cake to do forthis weekend. They want the letter "A" standing up on top of the cake. Can I do this in royal icing then dip it in chocolate? Any ideas or sugguestions?

You can pipe it in thick consistency royal with like a size 12 tube/tip ont parchemnt. Then take some heavy gauge floral wire, give it a tiny little hook at the end and insert that into the bottom of your letter. Pop it into a cold oven with the light on and let it dry at least over night. I did the same for the pink cake in my photos. They're very delicate so make extras to allow for breakage.
