Okay i just tryed my first FBCT. it's still in the freezer (took me like an hour and a half to do) But I had to take a peek so i lifted it up to see. The outline looks good. No mixing or bleeding of the black like i feared. But the coloring in looks kind of like little worms. I think i need to thin out my BC a bit next time and maybe use a tooth pick to smooth around the wormies. But all in all pretty good first attempt. (it's a Bratz girl) If my lil sis brings back my digital camera i'll take a pic.
I'm trying to experament with as many techniques as possible over the next few days. My daughter's 7th B-day is on Wednesday and I am scheduled for surgery that same day so i was planning on making her a realy extravagent castle cake as a constalation. I'm very excited and hope it turnes out ok though i'm sure she'll love it no matter how it turnes it out. ![]()
The little worms IMO are because you didn't press the icing down enough. Hopefully after you get it on the cake you can Viva it and get it smooth.
Don't worry about the worms, here is a good way to remove them.
Take your transfer out and place wax paper over the back and flip over. Remove wax paper from top picture and let thaw and crust. After it has crusted, smooth lightly with Viva. Once your transfer is smooth enough for you, place in freezer and freeze. Once the transfer is frozen, remove it and place wax paper over the top. Proceed with storing the transfer in a bag and place back in freezer until ready to use.
This works great for me ![]()
